Product Introduction
It is the rhizome of Kaempferia galanga L. (a plant of the Zingiberaceae family). From December to March of the following year, when the above-ground stems wither, the two-year-old rhizomes are dug out, washed to remove the soil, and cut horizontally into slices. After being fumigated with sulfur for one day, they are spread on bamboo mats and dried in the sun. It is strictly prohibited to dry them over a fire, otherwise they will turn black and lack aroma.
It is indicated for cold pain in the chest, abdomen and epigastrium, indigestion due to retention of food, traumatic injuries, and toothache. It is used for fullness in the chest and diaphragm, cold pain in the stomach and abdomen, and poor digestion of food.
It is pungent in flavor, warm in nature, and attributed to the stomach meridian.
