Product Description
This product is the dried root of Angelica dahurica (Fisch. ex Hoffm.) Benth. et Hook. f. or Angelica dahurica (Fisch. ex Hoffm.) Benth. et Hook. f. var. formosana (Boiss.) Shan et Yuan of the Umbelliferae family. It is dug when the leaves turn yellow between summer and autumn. After removing the fibrous roots and sediment, it is sun-dried or dried at a low temperature.
**Properties, Flavors and Meridian Tropisms**
Pungent in flavor, warm in nature. It pertains to the stomach, large intestine and lung meridians.
**Functions and Indications**
Induces sweating to dispel cold, expels wind and relieves pain, opens the nasal orifices, dries dampness and stops leukorrhea, reduces swelling and expels pus. It is used for headache due to common cold, pain in the supraorbital ridge, nasal congestion and runny nose, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, toothache, leukorrhea, and swelling and pain of sores and ulcers.
