Product Description

This product is the dried mature sarcocarp of Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc. of the Cornaceae family. The fruits are harvested when the pericarp turns red from late autumn to early winter. They are dried by slow baking over a gentle fire or briefly scalded in boiling water, and then the fruit stones are promptly removed and the product is dried. 

**Properties, Flavors and Meridian Tropisms**
Sour, astringent in flavor, slightly warm in nature. It pertains to the liver and kidney meridians. 

**Functions and Indications**
Tonifies the liver and kidney, astringes and arrests desertion. It is used for dizziness and tinnitus, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, impotence and spermatorrhea, enuresis and frequent urination, abnormal uterine bleeding and leukorrhea, profuse sweating with collapse, and internal heat with excessive thirst.
