Product Description
This product is the dried mature fruit of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill. of the Magnoliaceae family. It is commonly known as "Northern Schisandra Fruit". It is picked when the fruit is ripe in autumn, then sun-dried or sun-dried after steaming, and the fruit stalks and impurities are removed. **Properties, Flavors and Meridian Tropisms** Sour, sweet in flavor, warm in nature. It pertains to the lung, heart and kidney meridians. **Functions and Indications** Astringes and secures the exterior, supplements qi and promotes fluid production, tonifies the kidney and calms the heart. It is used for chronic cough and deficiency asthma, nocturnal emission and spermatorrhea, enuresis and frequent urination, chronic diarrhea, spontaneous sweating and night sweating, thirst due to fluid injury, internal heat with thirst, palpitation and insomnia.
