Product Description
This product is the dried mature seed kernel of Coix lacryma-jobi L. var. mayuen (Roman.) Stapf of the Poaceae family. When the fruits are mature in autumn, the plants are cut, sun-dried, the fruits are threshed, sun-dried again, and then the outer shells, tawny seed coats and impurities are removed to collect the seed kernels.
**Properties, Flavors and Meridian Tropisms**
Sweet and bland in flavor, cool in nature. It pertains to the spleen, stomach and lung meridians.
**Functions and Indications**
Promotes diuresis and eliminates dampness, strengthens the spleen and stops diarrhea, relieves arthralgia, expels pus, and resolves toxins and nodules. It is used for edema, beriberi, difficult urination, diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, contracture caused by damp arthralgia, lung abscess, intestinal abscess, verruca, and cancerous tumors.
