Product Description
This product is the dried root of Polygala tenuifolia Willd. or Polygala sibirica L. (Polygalaceae). It is dug in spring and autumn. After removing the fibrous roots and sediment, it is sun-dried or the woody core is removed before sun-drying.

Bitter, pungent in flavor, warm in nature. It pertains to the heart, kidney and lung meridians.
**Functions and Indications**
Calms the mind and improves intelligence, coordinates the heart and kidney, resolves phlegm and reduces swelling. It is used for insomnia with many dreams, forgetfulness, palpitations and restlessness, mental confusion caused by disharmony between the heart and kidney, difficult expectoration of phlegm, sores and toxic swellings, and breast swelling and pain.
